ED PREPARES YARD FOR "NEW ARRIVALS"
ed.111.jpg

One way to increase the number of hives, or to recover from any losses, is to purchase honeybees with a mated queen.  These are called, "Packaged Bees w/Queen".   It is best to do this in Spring and/or Summer, in this area, anyway.
Try to find a reputable place to purchase them.  One way is to ask a beekeeper in the area for information on where he or she purchased bees.  This can give you a good idea on the quality, whether the queen was well-mated and if it was worth the money spent.
I believe, "word of mouth" is much better than any other form of advertising.

THE BEES SEEMED GLAD TO BE HOME AT LAST!

We're fortunate to know a few honest and honorable beekeepers in our area.  We help each other.  Keep each other "posted" on what's happening and, support one another in times of stress.  And, many times, there are quite a few "stories" to tell of each other's "beekeeping adventures".
